Recently I came across a great deal on poppy seeds. I don't know if they are as expensive where you live but normally they are 14 dollars per pound here. I found six ounces for $2.60. Poppy seeds do go rancid so I started putting them to good use. I JUST LOVE FINDING A GREAT DEAL!
I made some poppy seed salad dressing and poured it over some nappa cabbage. I added green onions and some bacon. I used about a tablespoon of chopped bacon in a big bowl of cabbage. It was enough flavor to go through the whole salad. So you don't need much.

My husband loves poppy seeds, I so need to bookmark this for him
Looking good!! Salad dressing is right up my alley ;-)
I love poopyseed dressing. One of my favs! I love a good deal too, but then I am stuck with such huge amounts of what ever it is. Oh well!
This sounds delicious! I found myself a big bag of poppy seeds for cheap at a health food shop, I love them :) and I LOVE finding crazy bargains like that (even if it's like, "what am I going to do with a kilo of cumin seeds?!)
i'm a sucker for a bargain too. your dressing looks pretty simple, but really fantastic. nice. :)
and happy halloween to you. :)
I love Poppy Seed dressing and have Napa cabbage in the fridge! Shall have to try yours.
I finally tried the dressing with just a couple tweaks based on what I had on hand. Deelish! I did a post on it ... hope it's ok...
