With a surplus of Cheerios around my house, I felt it was time to call in the big guns to get the kids to eat them. You see lately my kids are on an oatmeal kick. Not a bad thing but I have lots of Cheerios here. What will make anything disappear fast? Peanut Butter and chocolate.
CHEERIO BARS
2/3 cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups Cheerios
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup dried cranberries
In a large heavy bottomed saucepan combine corn syrup and brown sugar. Heat until bubbles appear around the sides of the pan. Remove from heat, stir in peanut butter until fully combined. Add Cheerios, chocolate chips and dried cranberries. Press into a sprayed 9 x 13 pan, evenly and tightly. When cool, cut into 24 bars.

Oh yeah that will make those cheerios disappear
I just love peanut butter and chocolate. We have used in place of rice crispies for marshmallow treats. We just balled them up. This is another great snack treat; you have terrific food ideas!
These are great cereal bars, like the ones at the store but better--nothing beats homemade, or this flavor combo :).
i love that you used peanut butter in these--that alone makes them absolutely divine. :)
This is perfect. I have three unopened boxes to eat.
I love love love cereal, but the addition of cranberries is definitely appealing too.
